Electrical Installation Condition Report

Electrical Installation Condition Reports, also referred to as a EICR reports, are a requirement for insurance providers which in turn makes up to date electrical installation condition reports a legal requirement. EICR reports are typically required by building owners, developers and landlords for insurance purposes.

What is an EICR

An Electrical Installation Condition Report is comprised of fixed wire testing; the internal inspection of all aspects of your electrical distribution system.

You cannot see electricity. Cables are usually hidden inside our walls, and consumer units are often hidden in cupboards, so it is not surprising that we forget to check the condition of our electrical installation for damage or wear and tear.

An EICR includes all the outputs of your installation such as light fittings, sockets etc.

We are able to document any problems that may become problem in the near future and we can repair any minor faults whilst on site if required this generally saves you both time & money.

There are different frequencies on how often an Electrical Installation Condition Report needs carrying out depending on the installation and its use as detailed below. Our friendly experts will be able to give you unbaised advice if you are unsure.

Suggested periods allowed between Electrical Installation Condition Reports/ Inspections:

– Commercial Installations – 5 years.
– Industrial Installations – 3 years.
– Buildings open to the public – 1 year.
– External Installations – 3 years.
– Caravan Parks – 1 year.
– Fire Alarms – 1 year.
– Short Term Installations – 3 months.
– Site Installations – 3 months.

During the report we will record the findings and be able to advise on any aspects of the installation that may require attention now or in the future allowing you to have full piece of mind from your EICR Report
